As a result of innovation in sustainable and energy efficient lighting design, the incandescent light bulb will soon become a relic of a more naïve industrial era. As the years pass and technology improves, less people will come in contact with the bulbs, which, at their beginning, were all hand made. After studying the the artistic motives of such artists as Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg during a silk screen printing course, I sought to immortalize this mundane object, and elevate it's common utilitarian aesthetic to a a cult level of reverent documentation. In antiquity the bulbs become icons for illuminated and industrious progress, and are here depicted in their raw and final state of obsolete beauty.
